Job Description
POSITION REQUIRES BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH
The following is not intended to represent an all-inclusive list of job responsibilities, but to outline the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the position.
POSITION TITLE: Finance and Operations Manager
Develops, implements, maintains and evaluates accounting systems and procedures and ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. This portion also manages all or part of accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, fixed assets, general accounting, and Hyperion functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and implements accounting control procedures and provides staff management over accounting systems and control methods.
2. Reviews and controls some or all, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, fixed assets, general accounting, and Hyperion functions.
3. Compiles and/or oversees the compilation of periodic financial statements and prepares and submits appropriate operating reports and/or budgetary input.
4. Acts as a liaison between the company and outside auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that the proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
5. May conduct periodic and/or special studies/ analysis.
6. Trains others in general accounting guidelines and procedures.
7. Updates and resolves accounting related issues for the international division.
8. Submits periodic reports on assigned topics to management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May coordinate the activities of 3 or more fixed asset accountants, payroll coordinators, accounts payable coordinators, accounts receivable coordinators, general ledger and Hyperion coordinators.
- May evaluate the performance of 3 or more employees based on pre-established performance parameters.
- May coach and develop direct support subordinates.
- May be responsible for subordinate compliance with company policy and corrective actions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, etc. Generally involves sitting most of the time.
- Must be able to review printed material.
- Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, telephone, etc.).
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to understand and explain detailed and/or complex accounting guidelines and procedures.
- Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine accounting issues using independent judgment.
- Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies and errors (e.g. in the printed word, accounting reports or statements, etc.).
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

- Intermediate to Excellent PC skills.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 4-6 years related finance experience.
- Accounting related software experience.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED / PREFFERRED:
- B.B.A. or B.S. in business with an emphasis in accounting.
- MBA, potentially with emphasis in Accounting or Finance,
- Professional certification or related advanced course work in accounting.
- Excel (spreadsheet applications).
- Microsoft Word (word processing).
